Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Home 'be it ever so humble' by George Smith was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2016. The price achieved of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 29,229.06) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Smith - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Home - Be It Ever So Humble, which sold at auction in July 2007 for GBP 54,000.00 (€ 80,202.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Home 'be it ever so humble' von George Smith kam im Dezember 2016 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 29.229,06) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von George Smith mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Home - Be It Ever So Humble beobachtet, die im Juli 2007 für GBP 54.000,00 (€ 80.202,47) versteigert wurde.
