Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Teatime by George Smith was sold in the British and European Art auction at Bonhams in London in November last year. The price achieved of GBP 2,550.00 (€ 2,954.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Home - Be It Ever So Humble in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 54,000.00 (€ 80,202.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Teatime von George Smith wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion British and European Art bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.550,00 (€ 2.954,87) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Home - Be It Ever So Humble im Juli 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 54.000,00 (€ 80.202,47).
