Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April 2005 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Native Encampment by William Dobell. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 9,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 9,560.00 (€ 5,797.12). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Dobell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Opera House, Sydney Harbour in August 2007 with an auction result of AUD 816,000.00 (€ 487,948.98).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April 2005 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Native Encampment von William Dobell zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von AUD 9.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für AUD 9.560,00 (€ 5.797,12) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Dobell erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian Opera House, Sydney Harbour im August 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 816.000,00 (€ 487.948,98).
