Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2001 Christies in London held the auction Objects of Vertu and Miniatures, which included the work A young lady, seated in a red-upholstered chair, facing left in off-the-shoulder white dress with lace bordered pleated bodice, blue rosettes at corsage, shoulders and elbows, her long hair dressed in ringlets by William Charles Ross. It changed hands for a price of GBP 329.00 (€ 530.87) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 250.00 – 350.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Charles Ross achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Victoria, Princess Royal (1840-1901) As A Child, Holding The Long Blue Silk Ribbons Of Her Hat, In White Dress, Black Coat, Wearing A Blue-Lined Straw Hat Adorned With Black And Blue Ribbons On Her Curly Fair Hair; Landscape Background in November 2013 with an auction result of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 22,563.12).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion Objects of Vertu and Miniatures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A young lady, seated in a red-upholstered chair, facing left in off-the-shoulder white dress with lace bordered pleated bodice, blue rosettes at corsage, shoulders and elbows, her long hair dressed in ringlets von William Charles Ross zur Versteigerung kam. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Victoria, Princess Royal (1840-1901) As A Child, Holding The Long Blue Silk Ribbons Of Her Hat, In White Dress, Black Coat, Wearing A Blue-Lined Straw Hat Adorned With Black And Blue Ribbons On Her Curly Fair Hair; Landscape Background im Nov
