Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Thomas Lawrence could be acquired at Sothebys in London in May 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Refining Taste: Works Selected by Danny Katz auction, the work The Beautiful Washerwoman changed hands for GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,651.65) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Lawrence achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Arthur Wellesley, 1St Duke of Wellington, K.G., K.B., M.P. (1769-1852), Bust-Length, In Civilian Clothes With A Military Cloak, Wearing The Insignia of The Order of The Golden Fleece in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 2,080,000.00 (€ 3,088,865.09).
(1769-1852), Bust-Length, In Civilian Clothes With A Military Cloak, Wearing The Insignia of The Order of The Golden Fleece im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.080.000,00 (€ 3.088.865,09).
