The work Portrait Of William Hamilton, R.A., Three-Quarter-Length; Portrait Of Mary Hamilton, R.A., Three-Quarter-Length by Thomas Lawrence was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2020. It achieved a price of USD 11,875.00 (€ 10,573.41), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 48%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Lawrence achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Arthur Wellesley, 1St Duke of Wellington, K.G., K.B., M.P. (1769-1852), Bust-Length, In Civilian Clothes With A Military Cloak, Wearing The Insignia of The Order of The Golden Fleece in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 2,080,000.00 (€ 3,088,865.09).
