Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Study for Unveiling of the Cookham War Memorial by Stanley Spencer was sold in the The Collection of Sir Nicholas Goodison - British Art: Innovation and Craftsmanship auction at Christies in London in May last year. It achieved a price of GBP 30,240.00 (€ 35,574.48), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 21%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stanley Spencer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Christ Preaching At Cookham Regatta: Conversation Between Punts in November 2013 with an auction result of GBP 6,018,500.00 (€ 7,242,459.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Study for Unveiling of the Cookham War Memorial von Stanley Spencer wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion The Collection of Sir Nicholas Goodison - British Art: Innovation and Craftsmanship bei Christies in London versteigert.
