This artwork by Stanley Spencer achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May last year. In the The Collection of Sir Nicholas Goodison - British Art: Innovation and Craftsmanship auction, the work Stanley at an auction sold for GBP 17,640.00 (€ 20,751.78) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stanley Spencer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Christ Preaching At Cookham Regatta: Conversation Between Punts in November 2013 with an auction result of GBP 6,018,500.00 (€ 7,242,459.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Stanley Spencer erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Collection of Sir Nicholas Goodison - British Art: Innovation and Craftsmanship wurde die Arbeit Stanley at an auction für GBP 17.640,00 (€ 20.751,78) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Stanley Spencer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Christ Preaching At Cookham Regatta: Conversation Between Punts im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.018.500,00 (€ 7.242.459,25).
