The work Feeding the Five Thousand by Stanley Spencer was sold in the The Collection of Sir Nicholas Goodison - British Art: Innovation and Craftsmanship auction at Christies in London in May last year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 2,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 2,772.00 (€ 3,260.99). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Stanley Spencer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Christ Preaching At Cookham Regatta: Conversation Between Punts in November 2013 with an auction result of GBP 6,018,500.00 (€ 7,242,459.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Feeding the Five Thousand von Stanley Spencer wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion The Collection of Sir Nicholas Goodison - British Art: Innovation and Craftsmanship bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 2.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 2.772,00 (€ 3.260,99) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Stanley Spencer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Christ Preaching At Cookham Regatta: Conversation Between Punts im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.018.500,00 (€ 7.242.459,25).
