In the THE ROYAL & SUNALLIANCE COLLECTION auction, the work Portrait of the Third Viscount Hampden in a brown jacket changed hands for GBP 384.00 (€ 566.90) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 600.00 – 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Oswald Joseph Hornby Birley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Mark Birley (1930-2007), as a boy in November 2018 with an auction result of GBP 32,500.00 (€ 36,659.01).
