Auction result well in line with expectations
The work "Do you think there's a chance that the next edition of 'Panorama' will include a frank exchange of views between the Argylls?" by Osbert Lancaster was sold in the ORIGINAL ILLUSTRATIONS AND PRINTED BOOKS auction at Christies in London in December 2000. The price achieved of GBP 587.50 (€ 935.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 500.00 – 700.00. Admittedly, works by Osbert Lancaster have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Washed Out in March 2001 with an auction result of GBP 3,055.00 (€ 4,929.55).
