This artwork by Luke Fildes achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2013. In the Victorian & British Impressionist Art auction, the work Portrait Of (William) Lockett Agnew (1858-1918), Half-Length sold for GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,780.23) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Luke Fildes; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Simpletons (The Sweet River) sold at auction in July 2016 with the realized price of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,823.24).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Luke Fildes erzielte im Dezember 2013 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Art wurde die Arbeit Portrait Of (William) Lockett Agnew (1858-1918), Half-Length für GBP 10.625,00 (€ 12.780,23) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Luke Fildes; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Simpletons (The Sweet River) im Juli 2016 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 17.823,24).
