Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Mrs. Robert Borwick by Luke Fildes for USD 4,032.00 (€ 3,461.84). This price was achieved in the auction European Paintings, Drawings & Sculptures at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Luke Fildes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Simpletons (The Sweet River) in July 2016 with an auction result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,823.24).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Mrs. Robert Borwick von Luke Fildes für USD 4.032,00 (€ 3.461,84) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion European Paintings, Drawings & Sculptures bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Luke Fildes auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Simpletons (The Sweet River) im Juli 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 17.823,24).
