A top price for Luke Fildes - as previously expected
The work Simpletons (The Sweet River) by Luke Fildes was sold in the Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite and British Impressionist Art auction at Christies in London in July 2016. The result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,823.24) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Simpletons (The Sweet River) is the most expensive artwork by Luke Fildes that we have observed at auctions so far.
