Auction result well in line with expectations

The work The Marquis Conyngham, 'Mount' Guardsman by Leslie Matthew Ward was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2005. The price achieved of GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,612.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Leslie Matthew Ward have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Earl of Darnley, 'Ivo' Cricketer in December 2005 with an auction result of GBP 18,000.00 (€ 26,125.99).
