This work of art by Leslie Matthew Ward could be acquired at Christies in London in December 2005 for an unexpectedly low price. In the JOHN FRANKS COLL. OF ORIGINAL WATERCOLOURS FOR VANITY FAIR auction, the work Robert Henry Bullock-Marsham Police Magistrate changed hands for GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,090.08) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leslie Matthew Ward achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Earl of Darnley, 'Ivo' Cricketer in December 2005 with an auction result of GBP 18,000.00 (€ 26,125.99).
