Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work Mr Fred Crisp Entrepreneur and Trainer by Leslie Matthew Ward for GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,090.08). This price was achieved in the auction JOHN FRANKS COLL. OF ORIGINAL WATERCOLOURS FOR VANITY FAIR at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Leslie Matthew Ward achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Earl of Darnley, 'Ivo' Cricketer in December 2005 with an auction result of GBP 18,000.00 (€ 26,125.99).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2005 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Mr Fred Crisp Entrepreneur and Trainer von Leslie Matthew Ward für GBP 1.440,00 (€ 2.090,08) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion JOHN FRANKS COLL. OF ORIGINAL WATERCOLOURS FOR VANITY FAIR bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Leslie Matthew Ward erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Earl of Darnley, 'Ivo' Cricketer im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.000,00 (€ 26.125,99).
