Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work The Embarkation On The Barge by Lawrence Alma-Tadema for USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,324.44). This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century European Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lawrence Alma-Tadema achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work British the Finding Of Moses in November 2010 with an auction result of USD 35,922,500.00 (€ 27,556,382.33).
