Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Lawrence Alma-Tadema achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2019. In the British Art: Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art auction, the work Faust and Marguerite, Opus VII sold for GBP 13,750.00 (€ 16,250.89) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00.
