Auction result well in line with expectations
In January last year Sothebys in New York held the auction The European Art Sale Part I, which included the work After the Bath by Lawrence Alma-Tadema. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 32,760.00 (€ 29,218.69) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lawrence Alma-Tadema achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work British the Finding Of Moses in November 2010 with an auction result of USD 35,922,500.00 (€ 27,556,382.33).
