Auction result well in line with expectations
The work British the Three Graces by Lawrence Alma-Tadema was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 162,500.00 (€ 144,624.42) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lawrence Alma-Tadema achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work British the Finding Of Moses in November 2010 with an auction result of USD 35,922,500.00 (€ 27,556,382.33).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit British the Three Graces von Lawrence Alma-Tadema kam im Mai 2017 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 162.500,00 (€ 144.624,42) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lawrence Alma-Tadema erzielen.
