Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Reverie by John Everett Millais was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2019. The price achieved of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 51,707.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Everett Millais achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sisters in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 2,301,875.00 (€ 2,630,293.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Reverie von John Everett Millais kam im Dezember 2019 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 43.750,00 (€ 51.707,38) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Everett Millais erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sisters im Juli 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.301.875,00 (€ 2.630.293,40).
