Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2012 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & British Impressionist Art, which included the work April by John Alfred Arnesby Brown. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 23,750.00 (€ 29,290.35), 19% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Alfred Arnesby Brown - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The River, Afterglow, which sold at auction in July 2019 for GBP 87,500.00 (€ 96,069.18).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit April von John Alfred Arnesby Brown zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 23.750,00 (€ 29.290,35) und damit 19% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von John Alfred Arnesby Brown mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The River, Afterglow beobachtet, die im Juli 2019 für GBP 87.500,00 (€ 96.069,18) versteigert wurde.
