Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2012 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & British Impressionist Art, which included the work Pastoral landscape by John Alfred Arnesby Brown. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,896.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Alfred Arnesby Brown achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The River, Afterglow in July 2019 with an auction result of GBP 87,500.00 (€ 96,069.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pastoral landscape von John Alfred Arnesby Brown zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.896,15) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Alfred Arnesby Brown erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The River, Afterglow im Juli 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 87.500,00 (€ 96.069,18).
