Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, which included the work Ma Thein Kin With Her Yellow Parasol by Gerald Kelly. The price achieved of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,793.79) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gerald Kelly have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Glass of Sherry in the Studio, Portrait of W. Somerset Maugham in November 2020 with an auction result of GBP 94,000.00 (€ 104,935.72).
