Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2013 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, British and Impressionist Art, which included the work Anenomes (Illustrated); Sweet William; And Dahlia by Gerald Kelly. The price achieved of GBP 1,750.00 (€ 2,042.56) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerald Kelly achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Glass of Sherry in the Studio, Portrait of W. Somerset Maugham in November 2020 with an auction result of GBP 94,000.00 (€ 104,935.72).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2013 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian, British and Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Anenomes (Illustrated); Sweet William; And Dahlia von Gerald Kelly zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.750,00 (€ 2.042,56) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gerald Kelly erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Glass of Sherry in the Studio, Portrait of W. Somerset Maugham im November 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 94.000,00 (€ 104.935,72).
