Auction result misses estimated price range
In February 2009 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of Sir George Cornewall Lewis, Bart. MP (1806-1863), half-length by Francis Grant for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,114.00). This price was achieved in the auction Victorian & Traditionalist Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Grant achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of Daisy Grant, The Artist'S Daughter, Full Length, Wearing A Black Dress, Red Petticoat, Black Shawl, Hat And Boots, And Grey Gloves In A Winter Landscape in June 2001 with an auction result of GBP 174,250.00 (€ 289,463.92).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Februar 2009 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait of Sir George Cornewall Lewis, Bart. MP (1806-1863), half-length von Francis Grant für GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.114,00) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Victorian & Traditionalist Art bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francis Grant erzielen.
