Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters Evening Sale, which included the work Study Of A Scotch Collie (Recto); Study Of William Russell With A Falcon And A Hound (Verso) by Edwin Henry Landseer. It changed hands for a price of GBP 187,500.00 (€ 221,603.06) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. Admittedly, works by Edwin Henry Landseer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'Scene in Chillingham Park: Portrait of Lord Ossulston', or 'Death of the Wild Bull' in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 1,271,650.00 (€ 1,856,568.89).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Study Of A Scotch Collie (Recto); Study Of William Russell With A Falcon And A Hound (Verso) von Edwin Henry Landseer zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 187.500,00 (€ 221.603,06) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 150.000,00 – 200.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edwin Henry Landseer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'Scene in Chillingham Park: Portrait of Lord Ossulston', or 'Death of the Wild Bull' im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.271.650,00 (€ 1.856.568,89).
