This artwork by Edwin Henry Landseer achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2020. In the Old Masters Paintings & Sculpture auction, the work Study of a rock and a tree sold for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 30,674.15) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edwin Henry Landseer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Scene in Chillingham Park: Portrait of Lord Ossulston', or 'Death of the Wild Bull' in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 1,271,650.00 (€ 1,856,568.89).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Edwin Henry Landseer erzielte im Juli 2020 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Masters Paintings & Sculpture wurde die Arbeit Study of a rock and a tree für GBP 27.500,00 (€ 30.674,15) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edwin Henry Landseer erzielen.
