Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Visit To The Falconer'S by Edwin Henry Landseer was sold in the Old Masters Evening Sale auction at Sothebys in London in December 2017. The price achieved of GBP 62,500.00 (€ 70,334.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Edwin Henry Landseer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Scene in Chillingham Park: Portrait of Lord Ossulston', or 'Death of the Wild Bull' in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 1,271,650.00 (€ 1,856,568.89).

Die Arbeit A Visit To The Falconer'S von Edwin Henry Landseer wurde im Dezember 2017 in der Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 62.500,00 (€ 70.334,59) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Edwin Henry Landseer erzielen.
