This artwork by Eduardo Paolozzi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2021. In the Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale auction, the work Mondrian Head sold for GBP 56,250.00 (€ 66,641.06) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eduardo Paolozzi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Table Sculpture (Growth), which sold at auction in June 2007 for GBP 120,000.00 (€ 178,073.96).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Eduardo Paolozzi erzielte im Oktober 2021 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Mondrian Head für GBP 56.250,00 (€ 66.641,06) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Eduardo Paolozzi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Table Sculpture (Growth) beobachtet, die im Juni 2007 für GBP 120.000,00 (€ 178.073,96) versteigert wurde.
