Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Over the horizon - a Jersey nocturne by Claude Barry was sold in the Victorian & British Impressionist Art auction at Christies in London in November 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 5,107.36) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claude Barry achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work London and Wartime: Nocturne in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 230,500.00 (€ 325,002.11).

Die Arbeit Over the horizon - a Jersey nocturne von Claude Barry wurde im November 2011 in der Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 5.107,36) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
