Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2012 a collector was able to acquire the work Elizabeth Castle, Jersey by Claude Barry for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,247.78). This price was achieved in the auction Victorian & British Impressionist Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claude Barry achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work London and Wartime: Nocturne in June 2015 with an auction result of GBP 230,500.00 (€ 325,002.11).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2012 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Elizabeth Castle, Jersey von Claude Barry für GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.247,78) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Art bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Claude Barry erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit London and Wartime: Nocturne im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 230.500,00 (€ 325.002,11).
