Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Perseus arming by Alfred Gilbert was sold in the British & European Art: Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art auction at Christies in London in July 2019. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 47,500.00 (€ 52,151.84), 19% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Alfred Gilbert have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Saint George in December 2014 with an auction result of GBP 338,500.00 (€ 435,761.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Perseus arming von Alfred Gilbert wurde im Juli 2019 in der Auktion British & European Art: Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 47.500,00 (€ 52.151,84) und damit 19% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alfred Gilbert auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Saint George im Dezember 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 338.500,00 (€ 435.761,76).
