Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December this year Christies in London held the auction British and European Art, which included the work St Catherine (The Miraculous Wedding) by Alfred Gilbert. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 10,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 10,710.00 (€ 12,337.51). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred Gilbert achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Saint George in December 2014 with an auction result of GBP 338,500.00 (€ 435,761.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Dezember diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion British and European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit St Catherine (The Miraculous Wedding) von Alfred Gilbert zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 10.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 10.710,00 (€ 12.337,51) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfred Gilbert erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Saint George im Dezember 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 338.500,00 (€ 435.761,76).
