Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction 19th & 20th Century Sculpture, which included the work Perseus Arming by Alfred Gilbert. The price achieved of GBP 52,920.00 (€ 62,059.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Alfred Gilbert have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Saint George in December 2014 with an auction result of GBP 338,500.00 (€ 435,761.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 19th & 20th Century Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Perseus Arming von Alfred Gilbert zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 52.920,00 (€ 62.059,67) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alfred Gilbert auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Saint George im Dezember 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 338.500,00 (€ 435.761,76).
