In April 2007 Christies in New York held the auction The House Sale, which included the work Herders resting in a pastoral river landscape by Simon-Mathurin Lantara. The price achieved of USD 6,600.00 (€ 4,831.63) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Herders resting in a pastoral river landscape is the most expensive artwork by Simon-Mathurin Lantara that we have observed at auctions so far.
