Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2000 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings, Drawings and Picture Frames, which included the work An extensive rocky landscape with figures by a lake by Simon-Mathurin Lantara. Here, the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 1,645.00 (€ 1,763.51). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Simon-Mathurin Lantara - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Herders resting in a pastoral river landscape, which sold at auction in April 2007 for USD 6,600.00 (€ 4,831.63).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2000 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master Paintings, Drawings and Picture Frames durch, in der auch die Arbeit An extensive rocky landscape with figures by a lake von Simon-Mathurin Lantara zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 1.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 1.645,00 (€ 1.763,51) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Simon-Mathurin Lantara mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Herders resting in a pastoral river landscape beobachtet, die im April 2007 für USD 6.600,00 (€ 4.831,63) versteigert wurde.
