Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2003 Christies in London held the auction Important Gold Boxes,Objects of Vertu & Portrait Miniatures, which included the work A young gentleman, seated in a red upholstered chair, facing right in black coat with gold buttons, gold waistcoat and black cravat; burnt orange coloured curtain and sky background beyond by Simon Jacques Rochard. The price achieved of GBP 657.25 (€ 930.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 600.00 – 800.00. Admittedly, works by Simon Jacques Rochard have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Arthur Wellesley, Duke of Wellington (1769-1852) in red coat with gold-embroidered collar, gold epaulette and lacing, white waistcoat and frilled cravat, wearing the jewel of the Order of the Golden Fleece, the blue moiré sash and breast star of the in May 2004 with an auction result of

Im Dezember 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion Important Gold Boxes,Objects of Vertu & Portrait Miniatures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A young gentleman, seated in a red upholstered chair, facing right in black coat with gold buttons, gold waistcoat and black cravat; burnt orange coloured curtain and sky background beyond von Simon Jacques Rochard zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 657,25 (€ 930,91) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben worden.
