Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction The Pohl-Ströher Collection of Portrait Miniatures, Part III, which included the work Portrait Of A Lady, Circa 1830 by Simon Jacques Rochard. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 812.00 (€ 959.69) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Simon Jacques Rochard have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Arthur Wellesley, Duke of Wellington (1769-1852) in red coat with gold-embroidered collar, gold epaulette and lacing, white waistcoat and frilled cravat, wearing the jewel of the Order of the Golden Fleece, the blue moiré sash and breast star of the in May 2004 with an auction result of GBP 5,377.50 (€ 8,068
Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Simon Jacques Rochard auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Arthur Wellesley, Duke of Wellington (1769-1852) in red coat with gold-embroidered collar, gold epaulette and lacing, white waistcoat and frilled cravat, wearing the jewel of the Order of the Golden Fleece, the blue moiré sash and breast star of the im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.377,50 (€ 8.068,23)
