Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June 2005 Christies in London held the auction Portrait Miniatures, Objects of Vertu & Icons, which included the work A young gentleman in black coat and stock, pale yellow waistcoat and fair curly hair; noctural sky background by Simon Jacques Rochard. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 600.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 660.00 (€ 978.16). Admittedly, works by Simon Jacques Rochard have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Arthur Wellesley, Duke of Wellington (1769-1852) in red coat with gold-embroidered collar, gold epaulette and lacing, white waistcoat and frilled cravat, wearing the jewel of the Order of the Golden Fleece, the blue moiré sash and breast star of the in May 2004 with an auction result of GBP 5,377.50 (€ 8,068
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion Portrait Miniatures, Objects of Vertu & Icons durch, in der auch die Arbeit A young gentleman in black coat and stock, pale yellow waistcoat and fair curly hair; noctural sky background von Simon Jacques Rochard zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 600,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 660,00 (€ 978,16) einen neuen Besitzer.
