In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Portrait Of A Gentleman, Half-Length, In A Fur Lined Wrap sold for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,377.21) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Simon Jacques Rochard; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Arthur Wellesley, Duke of Wellington (1769-1852) in red coat with gold-embroidered collar, gold epaulette and lacing, white waistcoat and frilled cravat, wearing the jewel of the Order of the Golden Fleece, the blue moiré sash and breast star of the sold at auction in May 2004 with the realized price of GBP 5,377.50 (€ 8,068.23)
