Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction Impressionist & Modern Art, which included the work Poppies by Sigmund Joseph Menkes. It changed hands for a price of USD 11,875.00 (€ 8,735.47) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Sigmund Joseph Menkes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Nu, 1924 in October 2011 with an auction result of EUR 71,173.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2013 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Poppies von Sigmund Joseph Menkes zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 11.875,00 (€ 8.735,47) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sigmund Joseph Menkes auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Nu, 1924 im Oktober 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 71.173,00.
