Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Golden sunset on the mountain path ; and On the canal, Basingstoke by Sidney Yates Johnson was sold in the BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES auction at Christies in London in February 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 646.25 (€ 1,054.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Sidney Yates Johnson have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2004 the work Mountainous river landscapes was auctioned for GBP 1,015.75 (€ 1,524.00).
