Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2005 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work A figure outside a country cottage beside a river by Sidney Yates Johnson. The price achieved of GBP 264.00 (€ 389.32) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 200.00 – 300.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sidney Yates Johnson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mountainous river landscapes, which sold at auction in May 2004 for GBP 1,015.75 (€ 1,524.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A figure outside a country cottage beside a river von Sidney Yates Johnson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 264,00 (€ 389,32) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 200,00 – 300,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Sidney Yates Johnson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mountainous river landscapes beobachtet, die im Mai 2004 für GBP 1.015,75 (€ 1.524,00) versteigert wurde.
