Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work A couple on a rustic path, with haystooks beyond; and A shepherd with his flock on a path by Sidney Yates Johnson. It changed hands for a price of GBP 456.00 (€ 658.14) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sidney Yates Johnson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mountainous river landscapes, which sold at auction in May 2004 for GBP 1,015.75 (€ 1,524.00).

Im April 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A couple on a rustic path, with haystooks beyond; and A shepherd with his flock on a path von Sidney Yates Johnson zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 456,00 (€ 658,14) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Sidney Yates Johnson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mountainous river landscapes beobachtet, die im Mai 2004 für GBP 1.015,75 (€ 1.524,00) versteigert wurde.
