This work of art by Sidney Yates Johnson could be acquired at Christies in London in January 2002 for an unexpectedly low price. In the BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES auction, the work Cattle watering at the edge of a highland loch changed hands for GBP 293.75 (€ 482.63) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sidney Yates Johnson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mountainous river landscapes, which sold at auction in May 2004 for GBP 1,015.75 (€ 1,524.00).
