Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite and British Impressionist Art, which included the work Tristram And Yseult by Sidney Harold Meteyard. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 32,500.00 (€ 35,682.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sidney Harold Meteyard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Saint Cecilia, which sold at auction in November 2004 for GBP 59,750.00 (€ 85,950.05).
