In July 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, which included the work Lucifer And His Angels by Sidney Harold Meteyard. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,109.91), 63% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Sidney Harold Meteyard have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Saint Cecilia in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 59,750.00 (€ 85,950.05).

Im Juli 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lucifer And His Angels von Sidney Harold Meteyard zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 8.125,00 (€ 9.109,91) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sidney Harold Meteyard auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Saint Cecilia im November 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 59.750,00 (€ 85.950,05).
