The work The actor Nakamura Utaemon III (Shikan) in the role of Kumagai Jiro Naozane by Shunkosai Hokushu was sold in the From Artist to Woodblock: Japanese Prints auction at Christies in London in June 2020. The price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,376.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Other works by Shunkosai Hokushu have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May 2021 the work Actors viewing cherry blossoms was auctioned for GBP 1,890.00 (€ 2,199.06).
